Mysterious and dark, perfect for your goth garden or to add contrast in the garden. They can vary in color from a deep plum/wine to so dark they appear black. Adds dramatic height to borders. Easy to grow from seed and gather seed from. Self seeds readily and pollinators love these flowers. Hollyhocks are beautiful in the garden but unfortunately don’t make great cut flowers.
Take note that hollyhocks are prone to rust, a fungus that makes orangish spots on leaves and stalks. This can be treated, preferably proactively with a copper fungicide. It has no real effect on the flowers.
